Raised in Maine, Kelly has always had a deep appreciation for Maine’s environment. Her early years were spent exploring the outdoors with her dad, gardening with her grandmothers, or biking with her mom. Growing up she also had the opportunity to participate in Maine conservation projects like marsh bird surveys, and pollution impacts to frogs, which seeded a passion for conservation that continues to grow.
Supporting organizations and projects that protect Maine’s natural environments, and make it accessible for all, is a continued focus in her life. These days you’ll most often find her wandering trails with her dogs, creating native habitat in her yard, or working on some sort of craft. She spends most of her current volunteer time with local organizations removing invasive plants, and supporting trail maintenance. Prior to joining Midcoast Conservancy she worked largely with local businesses in administration, and media management.
Kelly’s educational background is in fine art photography and creative writing, with certificates in animal behavior and permaculture design.
