Out in the Midcoast - Queer Outing Club
Come be out in the outdoors with your queer peers! On the first Saturday of every month, we will meet at the trailhead of Hidden Valley Nature Center at 9 AM to enjoy nature and the company of Midcoast Maine’s LGBTQ+ community. Friends, family, and allies are welcome too!
Please be prepared for a 1-2 mile hike, including wearing comfortable shoes and bringing water and a snack. Tick protection, such as socks tucked into pants, is recommended. Bug spray will be available for use at the trailhead and throughout the hike. There are picnicking opportunities throughout Hidden Valley Nature Center if you would like to pack a lunch for after the hike.
This program is led by Skye Cahoon (she/her), an Environmental Steward serving with Midcoast Conservancy through the Maine Conservation Corps. Skye is a queer naturalist with a passion for moss, fungi, and connecting folks to the world around them!
