Likin' Lichens

Lichens are amazing! Come learn all about one of the most biodiverse forms of life in Maine. We’ll cover everything from the science (what species you’re likely to find around here, what is a lichen anyways, how they’re saving the planet), the history (how Egyptians used them in embalming, why wolfsbane is called that, the connection to Scottish tartans), and the future (innovations using lichen, and how you can help stop the threats to lichen).

If you have questions, please email info@midcoastconservancy.org

Air Rhodes is a Master Naturalist, lifelong lichen lover, and also Midcoast Conservancy’s Deputy Director. You can reach Air via email (air@midcoastconservancy.org) or follow them on Instagram (@airmtns) for lots of lichen photos!
