stream exploration field day

  • Goose River Peace Corps Preserve Finntown Road Waldoboro, ME United States (map)

We all love to sit near a stream and listen to the calm trickling waters. But did you know there is a whole world down in the streambed?! We will explore who lives down below and in between the rocks. So come meet our friends the benthic macroinvertebrates (who?!) and learn why they are so important! We will use nets to gather juvenile insects from the pebbles in the water and then identify them. It will be a great time spent exploring and splashing!
