As Senior Land Conservation Manager, Erika works with landowners, the Lands Committee, and the Board to identify, prioritize, and develop conservation easements and acquisition projects, helping conserve key landscapes in the Midcoast Region. She has a passion for community-based conservation that balances human needs, public access, and working landscapes with the need to conserve and protect natural resources.
Erika grew up in Ohio and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Botany and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She and her family spent the last 15 years living in California. In California, she worked as a Resource Conservationist focused primarily on habitat restoration, project management, and community education and outreach. She was also a Certified California Naturalist Instructor and loves learning about natural history and sharing her knowledge with the people and communities she works with. Erika has had a deep relationship with nature since she was a young child, preferring to play in the creek and explore the woods over anything else. In her free time, she enjoys any opportunity to be in nature, specifically taking photos, hiking, camping, and backpacking, with family, friends, and her three children. As a parent, it has always been important to instill a strong connection to nature and an ethic of stewardship in her children.
