Self-Guided Forestry Tour at Hidden Valley

Time spent with Forest and Lands Manager Tim Libby out in the woods is always time well spent! Thank you to everyone who came out to Hidden Valley Nature Center on Saturday as Tim led us on the new Project Canopy Walking tour.

The self-guided tour is complete with wonderful new informational displays and offers views and comparisons of our forest management through the years and incorporates both Low Impact Forestry and Maine Audubon's Forestry for Maine Birds. Our forestry program sustainably produces up to 30 cords of firewood, timber frames, and lumber for furniture and other uses each year.

Brochures with a map of the self-guided tour are available at the Welcome Center.

This project is made possible by funding from the Maine Forest Service’s Project Canopy Program and the generous support of our members.
