Annual Gala A Rousing Success for Conservation!

What a night! THANK YOU to everyone who came out to socialize, eat, bid, and generally revel in a great evening to celebrate conservation at our annual Gala! We are equally humbled and inspired by the generosity of our members and are thrilled to announce that we exceeded our goal and raised more than $100,000 for our conservation work. We even heard this morning that the winning bidder of the puffin cruise has already been fulfilled with an early morning trip to Eastern Egg Rock, where not only were hundreds of puffins viewed, but also three species of terns, many laughing gulls and black back gulls and herring gulls, guillemots, eiders, double crested cormorants, a bald eagle, and more. Good things come to those who bid :)

There is a long list of thank yous to share for our successful evening, including in no particular order our Gala Committee, our Board of Directors, our event benefactors and sponsors, auction item donors, auction item bidders,  all of our guests for bringing such great energy, our auctioneer Lawrence Trueman, our emcee John Brooks, and our engagement team and all staff for making a great event! And of course we also need to thank our event vendors, including Sherry and our friends at Inn Along the Way, Applecroft Catering, and Wallace Events for seamlessly accommodating some significant last minute changes.

From Martin Point to Montville and all the special places in between, we really couldn’t protect and restore the vital lands and waters of Midcoast Maine without the generosity and support from our members.

Thank you and we hope to see you at one of our other signature summer events, including State of the Lake, State of the Medomak, State of the Sheepscot, and Live Edge! (Details on our events page: https://www.midcoastconservancy.org/events)
