Trail Skills And Sustainability Workshop

  • Hidden Valley Nature Center 131 Egypt Road Jefferson, ME, 04348 United States (map)

Elevate your trail building and maintenance skills during this free two-part workshop designed to teach basics in trail erosion control and hone chainsaw skills.

Designed as a training for our trail crew volunteers, we welcome anyone interested in learning more about sustainable and safe trail building!

The morning session from 9:00 am-1:00 pm will focus on trail erosion control, followed by a lunch break from 1:00 - 2:00 pm, then an afternoon session in chainsaw skills from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.

Come for one or both sessions! Both sessions will start at the Bezon Barn at Hidden Valley Nature Center, about a ~¼ mile walk from the parking area along the service road.

Please note: If you are interested in the afternoon session, please bring your chainsaw, chaps, steel toes, and ear and eye protection. You should be comfortable using a saw. To learn the basics of chainsaw use, consider taking one of our chainsaw safety courses!

If you have any questions, please reach out to Linc Oliver-O’Neil at landmcc@midcoastconservancy.org or call (401) 529 5738.

Registration is free, but required.

We are pleased to partner with Maine Conservation Corps for this program.
