Our Toast to the Midcoast fundraiser series aims to engage and connect the communities in each of our watersheds. With an attendee maximum of 125 at each gathering, people are able to create and further relationships with neighbors and fellow members while learning more about each watershed’s unique qualities and challenges through guest speakers and an update from our Executive Director.
JULY 14: LINGER BY THE LAKE is held on the shores of Damariscotta Lake, always at a home that is “LakeSmart” certified, meaning the property owners have taken steps to prevent erosion and pollution-causing runoff that would damage the lake’s water quality. This year, the event is at a lovely farm in Nobleboro. Registration for Linger by the Lake event has ended. Please contact Ali Stevenson, Communications and Engagement Manager, at ali@midcoastconservancy.org for more information or to be put on a waitlist. A few tickets are still available for the Medomak Mixer and the Sheepscot Soiree.
JULY 28: THE MEDOMAK MIXER, in Round Pond, offers people the opportunity to spend time on the shore of Muscongus Bay, a thriving working waterfront for lobstering and oyster farming. Water pollution mitigation is critical there, as the Medomak is host to the most productive clam flats in Maine.
AUGUST 3: THE SHEEPSCOT SOIREE highlights the wonders of the Sheepscot River which, thanks to dam removal and redesign projects, is seeing a resurgence of the endangered Atlantic salmon as they are able to return to historic spawning grounds. Our host in Alna lives on a bluff overlooking the river and one of our most popular preserves.
