Low Impact Tactics, Tools, and Techniques

Description: Get familiar with human scaled tools, practical strategies and intuitive processes to make working in the woods productive, safe and fun.

Objectives: 

  • Learn techniques to be an effective and careful practitioner of low impact forestry methods and principles.

  • Plan accessing, harvesting and extraction of woodland resources to maximize returns while minimizing efforts.

  • Try out a wide variety of small scale forestry tools both old and new.

  • Build confidence in yourself as a positive and necessary partner in the healthy ecology of small woodlots.

Instructor: Eli Berry is a low impact logger, farmer, and nurseryman from Washington, Maine where he operates Crystal Lake Farm and Nursery.
