i-Naturalist Bioblitz

  • Davis Stream Preserve 65 Washington Road Jefferson, ME, 04348 United States (map)

Join Maine Master Naturalist Susan Cottle and MCC Environmental Steward Skye Cahoon in this exploration of Davis Stream Preserve’s wild neighborhood!

Wander the easy, short (0.6 miles) loop trail at your own pace, using the iNaturalist app to meet the plants, insects, fungi, and animals you encounter along the way. Share your discoveries with Susan Cottle, who will be meandering along the same loop trail individually, for a more in-depth dive into the fascinating creatures and relationships that exist within the forests, fields, and wetlands of Midcoast Maine.

Never heard of iNaturalist? Skye Cahoon will be at the trailhead to demonstrate how to use the app and share tips on getting the most accurate ID!

This is a self-guided event, with opportunities to dive deeper into your curiosity with one-on-one discussions with a Maine Master Naturalist. Parking for Davis Stream Preserve is at the Willow Grange, about 400 feet up the road from the Jefferson Village Cemetery. Please dress for a short hike in the woods, and bring water and sun protection. We recommend downloading iNaturalist and creating an account before the event.
