Bat Bash Hike

  • Hidden Valley Nature Center 131 Egypt Road Jefferson, ME, 04348 United States (map)

October is a spooky month, full of tricks and treats. Among the witches, goblins, and ghouls, there’s a group of creatures who are more treat than trick- bats!

Join Americorps member Skye Cahoon on our Bat Bash Hike to meet the 8 bat species that live here in Maine. Though all of our bat friends have migrated away to warmer climates or are hibernating underground by now, we will still have fun learning why the only flying mammal is special and fascinating!

During this 1.5 mile hike, we will explore the areas that bats call home in the spring and summer months, discuss why bats are important to both the forest and us humans, and admire photos of their adorable faces and fluffy bodies!

The rain date for this event is October 23, 9 am -11 am.

Registration is required. If the cost of this event is prohibitive to you, please contact Skye Cahoon at landmcc@midcoastconservancy.org for alternate registration options. Thank you!
