Trail Day with AMC at West Branch Preserve

  • West Branch Preserve 433 North Mountain Road Somerville, ME, 04348 United States (map)

Join Midcoast Conservancy and the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) of Maine for a joint trail workday at West Branch Preserve in Somerville!

West Branch Preserve protects almost 1.5 miles of the West Branch of Davis Stream, one of the major tributaries to Damariscotta Lake. With over a half dozen miles of trails that go through woods as well as along cascading falls of the stream, it is a great retreat at any time of year.

We will work on a variety of tasks for which no experience is required, just an interest in being outside with like-minded people giving back to a public trail. Projects will include rebuilding bog bridges, trimming vegetation back, clearing out fallen branches, and perhaps some blazing of the trail-there's plenty to do! Tools will be provided (though participants are encouraged to bring their favorite loppers, hand saw, and gloves if they have them). We really just need your good company!

The trail workday will start in the morning, details of starting time and trailhead location will be provided once you register through AMC’s website for the event. Email isobel@midcoastconservancy.org or call 207-389-5163 with questions.

Space is limited and registration for this event is required. Please register through the Appalachian Mountain Club of Maine’s website, below:
